Why I Love Research

It all started back in 2014—a pivotal year when I began my research journey while also diving into my first book project. Those dual pursuits lit a fire in me: I discovered how much I love engaging with people, hearing their stories, and weaving those insights into meaningful work. Every conversation, every shared experience, deepened my belief that the best solutions come from collaboration, not isolation.

That’s why I’m so committed to co-design and participatory research—approaches that center community voices in problem-solving. Whether it’s urban resilience, environmental sustainability, or social equity, I’m driven by challenges that demand both data-driven rigor and human-centered creativity. For me, research isn’t just about analysis; it’s about amplifying overlooked issues and designing responses that actually stick.

Along the way, I’ve learned that the most powerful ideas emerge when diverse minds collide. So if you’re working on something bold—whether it’s a study, a policy initiative, or a grassroots project—let’s connect. I’m always eager to explore partnerships that push boundaries and create tangible change. After all, the challenges we face are too big to tackle alone. But together? We can build solutions that resonate far beyond the page or the spreadsheet.

Let’s make it happen. Reach out—I’d love to hear what you’re working on.

Partnerships & Communication Matter

For ten years, I’ve moved through boardrooms and village meetings, research labs and media studios, learning one truth: real change happens in the spaces between people. My career has been about tending those spaces—not with grand gestures, but through patient, deliberate connection.

Early on, I noticed how often good ideas faltered—not for lack of merit, but from missing the human element. A policy brief ignored because it spoke in jargon. A community project resisted because outsiders designed it alone. These moments taught me to listen for what goes unsaid—the concerns beneath objections, the hopes hidden behind skepticism.

I’ve learned to navigate the subtle alchemy of trust-building: when to lead with data and when with stories, how to reframe a shared challenge so diverse stakeholders recognize themselves in the solution. The work lives in the details—a carefully phrased email that unlocks a stalled negotiation, the silence that allows a reluctant voice to emerge, the restructuring of a meeting so power dynamics shift.

What keeps me engaged after a decade isn’t the visible outcomes (though those matter), but those fleeting moments when a room’s energy changes—when "your problem" becomes "our opportunity." That shift, more than any metric, tells me the work is working.

If your challenge involves bringing unlikely allies together or translating between worlds, I’d love to hear about it. Some of the best solutions begin with a simple conversation.
